A bit about me...
Hello there! I’m Jo, and I’m so excited to share a bit about my journey with fashion and crafts. Ever since I can remember, I've had a keen interest in style and creativity, but I often found that the clothes on the High Street just didn’t quite hit the mark for me. So, I thought, why not make them my own? That’s when I began customising the clothes I bought, adding my own unique touch! Over the years, I’ve honed my skills in adapting, modifying, and adjusting my wardrobe to achieve that perfect fit, which naturally led me down the delightful path of full dressmaking.
As friends and family noticed my handiwork and the quality I poured into each project, they started asking for my help with alterations, repairs, and even soft furnishings like pillowcases, cushions, and curtain adjustments. I genuinely enjoy all sorts of handcrafts, from woodwork to needlework, but I always find myself coming back to my beloved sewing machine. I thrive on the thrill of tackling new projects and embracing the opportunity to learn fresh skills along the way. It truly brings me joy, and I can't wait to create more!
... and my business
My business came to life because of the wonderful support and encouragement from my family and friends, who wanted customised clothes that fit just right and could keep their favourite pieces around a bit longer. It all began at my dining room table with a humble second-hand sewing machine and a basic, budget-friendly overlocker.
Fast forward a bit, and I’ve been lucky enough to upgrade my equipment (though, I must admit, they're starting to show their age too). I also took over the second bedroom, creating a space where all the magic happens. More recently, thanks to my amazing husband, I managed to build a lovely Sewing Studio dedicated to all sorts of fabulous projects.
At the moment, I’m juggling my little business alongside a part-time job (you know how it is—those bills won't pay themselves, right?). I’m available most evenings and weekends, so if you’ve got a sewing task on your mind—whether it’s re-attaching a button or designing some lovely bench cushions for your DIY projects—I’m here to help!
